Terms of use

Effective October 1, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Spencer Lay, an individual based in Ohio, USA, who runs FocusFlow (“we”, “us”), for your use of the FocusFlow iPhone app, the web app and getfocusflow.app (together, “FocusFlow”). By using FocusFlow you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use it.

Who can use FocusFlow

FocusFlow is offered only in the United States. You must be at least 13. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. FocusFlow is for managing your own device. Don't use it to monitor or control another adult's phone.

Your account

Give accurate information, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at support@getfocusflow.app if you think someone else has access. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

What FocusFlow does, and doesn't do

FocusFlow uses Apple's Screen Time features to lock the apps you choose until you've earned time by completing tasks. It's a tool to help you, not a guarantee:

  • You can always get around it. You can remove its Screen Time permission, delete the app, or use an emergency override. It's meant to add friction, not to be impossible to undo.
  • Blocking depends on iOS. Apple controls Screen Time, and updates, device settings or outages can change how blocking behaves.
  • AI checks can be wrong. Proof photos are reviewed by an AI model that can make mistakes in either direction.
  • Don't lock yourself out of anything you need. Don't choose apps you may need in an emergency, for safety, health, work or school. FocusFlow isn't responsible for anything missed while an app was locked.
  • FocusFlow is not medical or mental health treatment. If phone use is seriously affecting your life, talk to a professional.

Your content

You own the tasks, photos and other content you add. You give FocusFlow permission to store, process and display it only to run the service for you, including sending proof photos to our AI provider for checking as described in the Privacy Policy. Only upload photos you have the right to take, and don't upload anything illegal, explicit or of other people without their permission.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse FocusFlow: no attempting to break into it or other accounts, no interfering with how it runs, no scraping, reverse engineering or reselling it, and no using it to break the law.

Price

FocusFlow is free. There is nothing to buy in the app. If that ever changes, anything sold would go through Apple's App Store under Apple's terms, with the price shown before you pay, and these terms would be updated first.

Ending your use

You can stop using FocusFlow and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, or stop offering FocusFlow, and will try to give notice where we reasonably can.

Disclaimers

FocusFlow is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce any particular result, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, FocusFlow won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, time or opportunities, arising from your use of it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Apple

These terms are between you and FocusFlow, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for FocusFlow or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and isn't responsible for claims relating to it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If FocusFlow fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. You confirm you aren't in a country subject to a US government embargo and aren't on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of the state you live in requires otherwise.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and tell you in the app or by email about significant changes. Continuing to use FocusFlow after that means you accept them.
