Getting started
What do I need?
An iPhone running iOS 17 or later. FocusFlow is for iPhone only.
How long does setup take?
About two minutes. Allow Screen Time, pick the apps to lock, and add your first task.
Do I have to use photos?
No. Photo proof is on by default because it is what makes the lock mean something, but you can turn it off for any task.
Blocking and Screen Time
Does it work with any app?
Yes. You choose from every app and category on your iPhone, using Apple's own picker.
Why does it need Screen Time access?
Screen Time is Apple's permission for blocking apps. Without it nothing can be locked. Your usage figures stay on your phone.
Can I just turn it off?
There is no ignore button on a locked app. For a real emergency there is an override, with a wait before it opens and a record in your history.
Do the apps relock on their own?
Yes. When your earned minutes run out the lock returns, even if FocusFlow is closed.
AI proof and privacy
What counts as proof?
A photo that plausibly shows the task done: a finished problem set, your notes, the gym, a clean desk.
Can I cheat it?
You can try. The model checks the photo against the task and repeat photos are caught. It is built so that cheating takes more effort than the homework.
What if the AI gets it wrong?
It tells you when it is unsure. You can retake the photo, and if it still cannot tell, you can confirm the task yourself.
What happens to my photos?
They are sent to Anthropic's Claude for the check and stored in your task history. They are never shared, sold or used to train models, and you can delete them.
Does FocusFlow see which apps I use?
No. Apple gives FocusFlow a token for each app, never its name, and your usage stays on your phone.
Cost
How much does it cost?
Nothing. FocusFlow is free, with every feature included.
Are there ads?
No ads, no analytics trackers, and nothing about you is sold.
Students and schools
Is there a minimum age?
FocusFlow is for people 13 and older.
Can my school or advisor see my tasks?
No. Your account, tasks and photos are visible only to you. Friends you add see task counts and minutes kept, never what the tasks were.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings, then Delete account. Your tasks, photos and history are erased with it.
